Niel “Buddy” Matheis has been chosen Student of the Month for December by the Greater Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce.

The son of Niel and Pamela Matheis, he was described as “an exceptional student who has taken numerous honors courses while maintaining an overall 3.8 grade point average,” by Chamber of Commerce CEO/President Eileen May. “He always exhibits a kind, positive and helpful attitude which makes him a genuine model for other students on campus.”
