LPHS gym dedication to honor memory of Bill Ross
A special ceremony will be held at the Lake Placid High School gymnasium at approximately 7 p.m. Friday to dedicate the facility to the memory of Malcolm William “Bill” Ross IV.
Ross, whose life was tragically abbreviated in an automobile accident on June 11, 2012, was a graduate of Lake Placid High School in the Class of 1978. The son of Malcolm and Ellie Ross, Bill was not only an honor student but a standout basketball player at LPHS. From 1975-78, he was the center of perhaps the finest Green Dragon basketball team in history. The team, coached by Steve Bullard, played and defeated a number of much larger schools during that time.
