Lake Placid Arts & Crafts Country Fair set for 47th year
An event created in 1966 with a mission to “promote and stimulate interest in arts and crafts in the Greater Lake Placid area” will celebrate its 47th birthday Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 2-3, with numerous vendors selling their handcrafted wares in Lake Placid’s DeVane Park while works of local artists and craftsmen will be on display nearby at Lake Placid Elementary School.
Opening ceremonies will be at
9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 with a prayer by Rev. Ray Cameron of First Presbyterian Church, followed by a welcome by Mayor John Holbrook. The singing of the National Anthem will accompany the Presentation of Colors by representatives of Lake Placid High School’s JROTC.
