For the second year in a row, Little Miss Highlands County hails from Lake Placid. Kaitlyn Varady, a fifth-grader at Lake Placid Elementary School was crowned Little Miss Highlands County on Monday, Feb. 11 after participating in her first beauty pageant.

Parents John and Donna Varady, along with her brother Zachary, provided plenty of support for Kaitlyn and Skipper Cattle Corporation was her sponsor. She was among 15 young ladies vying for the title, all with their own supporters and sponsors.
