Lake Placid Mayor John Holbrook was joined by Town Clerk Arlene Tuck and representatives of Tour Lake Placid this week when the mayor signed a proclamation officially declaring Lake Placid as "America's most interesting town." The designation came at the conclusion of a contest hosted by Reader's Digest magazine. Lake Placid was featured in a two-page spread in the January edition of Reader's Digest. Tour Lake Placid is comprised of representatives from the Lake Placid Mural Society, Lake Placid Historical Society and the Caladium Arts and Crafts Cooperative.
