Merry Costanza helped staff the Fancy Leaf Caladiums/Happiness Farms booth at Gardenfest in Vero Beach.
T his time of year offers too many entertainment options. Last weekend I had four events I wanted to attend: Gardenfest in Riverside Park in Vero Beach, an orchid show in Venice, a NuHope run/walk fundraiser in Sebring, and our own Lake Placid Arts & Crafts Country Fair.
I started my weekend Friday night with my husband and mother. We eat dinner with my mother Fridays and this week we went to Spring Lake Golf Course restaurant, Michael’s. This was our second trip to Michael’s. On our first trip, Ken had a shrimp dish with lots of fresh vegetables and I had spaghetti. We were pleased with both meals. On this visit the three of us shared a vegetable pizza and fried mushrooms. The pizza dough and vegetables were fresh. The sauce was very good. But the mushrooms were the favorite at our table. Fresh, not frozen, mushrooms and lightly breaded. Worth the short drive.
