Terry Richard Lowder

Terry Richard Lowder, 70, of Lake Placid, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at his residence under the loving care of family and Good Shepherd Hospice.

Born July 18, 1942 in New Castle, Ind., to Maurice and Martha Lowder, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps before retiring and enlisting in the Army Reserves in Indiana and continuing service in the Army Reserves here in Florida and again retiring.

Mr. Lowder moved to Lake Placid 30 years ago from Losantville, Ind, and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lake Placid. He was a well drilling expert.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Lowder of Lake Placid; four sons: Terry DeWayne (Darla) Lowder of Paragon, Ind, Larry Allen (Pam) Lowder of Lake Placid, Daryl Eugene Lowder of Royal Palm Beach, and Todd Richard (Donna) Lowder of Asheboro, N.C.; four surrogate children: Kathy Schill of Sebring, Kimberly DosSantos of Clermont, Lysa Gutierrez of Clearfield, Utah, Jimmy (Sol) Pinillos of Lake Placid; three brothers, Maurice Gene (Sue) Lowder of Lake Placid, Gary Richard Lowder of Muncie, Ind. and Michael Fisher of Winter Haven; three sisters, Rosemary Sayre of Forest City, N.C., Carol Barnes of Canyon Lake, Texas and Diane (Lindsey) Farmer of Static, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren: Terry D. (Alesha) Lowder of West Palm Beach, Joshua Allen Lowder of Lake Placid, Rene (Scott) Chapman of Sebring, Kate Jessica (Ben) Esparza of Lake Placid, Heather Lowder of Lake Placid, Wyndel Hurst Lowder of LaBelle, Katie Cissell of West LaFayette, Ind, Maggie Cissell of Paragon, Ind, Christopher Brown and Jarren Brown both of Asheboro, N.C.; 10 great-grandchildren all of Lake Placid; several nieces and nephews; and best friend James Lewis of Lake Placid.

Funeral Service were Sunday, Nov. 4 at noon at The Seventh Day Adventist Church, 24 E. Phoenix Ave, Lake Placid. Entombment followed at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Avon Park.
