Ruth Agnes Blass

Ruth Agnes Blass, 85, of Lake Placid, passed away early Sunday morning, Nov. 11, 2012, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring.

Born Oct. 11, 1927, in Westfield, Mass. to Lottie V. (Rose) and Archie William Gainley, Mrs. Blass moved to Lake Placid in 1991 from Connecticut and was a life member of the Lake Placid VFW Post 3880 Women’s Auxiliary. She was the last of a very large family of siblings. Mrs. Blass is survived by a daughter, Debbie James; five sons, Richard (Carol), Ronald, Ernie (Jean), Steven (Isabel) and Mark (Carol) VanCedarfield; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services to celebrate Mrs. Blass’ life will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted with Scott Funeral Home, Lake Placid.
