Leona Henderson Landgraf

Leona Henderson Landgraf, 81, of Miramar, Florida passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.

Born in Lake Placid on Aug. 26, 1931, to Leon and Sally (Hendry) Henderson, she and educated here. Mrs. Landgraf and her family moved to Miramar in 1958 where they lived for many years. She worked as an administrative assistant for Shoreline Carpet Supply Company for 20 years before her retirement. A longtime member of Pembroke Road Baptist Church, her greatest love and gift was her family. Mrs. Landgraf was a member of the Lake Placid Historical Society.

Mrs. Landgraf is survived by two children, Gregory R. (Cindy) Landgraf and Darlene Landgraf; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Rachel Landgraf; a sister, Treva Payne; and two brothers, Roy and Ward Henderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Landgraf, in 1991, a sister, Loree Roberts and a brother, Lucius Henderson.

A funeral service was Tuesday afternoon at Pembroke Road Baptist Church in Miramar. Mrs. Landgraf will be laid to rest next to her husband at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited.
