Donna Mae Leonard, 65, of Lake Placid died Wednesday morning,
Jan. 2, 2013, at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center in Sebring.
Born April 26, 1947 in Hector, Minn. to Minnie (Johnson) and Edwin Buboltz, she moved to Naples in 1970 where she was a school teacher with the Collier County Public Schools system, then to Lake Placid in 1983. Mrs. Leonard was active with the Lake Placid Elks Lodge 2661 where she was a member of the Ladies of the Elks. She was a graduate of Toby’s Clown College and volunteered at Florida Hospital Lake Placid and received a Kentucky Colonel award for her volunteer service in the community. Mrs. Leonard was a Lutheran by faith and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Leonard is preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Keith. She is survived by her husband of
30 years, James H.; a brother, Charles Buboltz; and several nephews, Gregory, Robin and Tim Buboltz.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Leonard’s’s life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, at Scott Funeral Home, 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Rev. Richard A. Norris officiating followed by a Ladies of the Elks service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in memory of Mrs. Leonard to the Ladies of the Elks with The Florida Elks Children Hospital written in the memo.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Scott Funeral Home, Lake Placid.
