James E. Lesane
James E. “Jimmy” Lesane, 82, of Lake Placid died Friday morning, Jan. 4, 2013, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring with his wife by his side.
Born March 8, 1930, in Raleigh, N.C., to Kathryn (Broughton) and James Lewis Lesane, he served in the U.S. Navy and was a graduate of the University of Virginia. An avid sports fan, Mr. Lesane played football throughout his youth and into college and after graduation played for the Chicago Bears and the Baltimore Colts. After retiring as a manufacturer’s representative in the clothing industry he and his wife moved to Lake Placid from Sarasota in 2003. He enjoyed biking, walking on the beach and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Placid.
Mr. Lesane is survived by his wife of 36 years Betty; son James E. Lesane, Jr. (Ruthly); and two grandchildren, Tripp and Ryn Lesane.
A service to celebrate Mr. Lesane’s life was Monday,
Jan. 7, at First Baptist Church of Lake Placid with Pastors Brett Morey and Mike Ford officiating.
