Barbara Jean Theget of Lake Placid died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring. She was 70.

Born Feb. 17, 1942, to Wendall and Margary Alinder, she graduated from Willmar High School in Minnesota in 1960. She married Art Theget on March 20, 1963. Mrs. Theget graduated nurse training and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her career started in a hospital, but Mrs. Theget enjoyed taking care of elderly patients and soon centered her career on nursing homes. She retired after 42 years and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Gospel music and attending concerts. Mrs. Theget and her husband moved to Lake Placid in 1997.

Mrs. Theget is survived by her husband of 49 years; three daughters, Kristi, Cindy and Stacy; son John; eight granddaughters and one grandson; sisters Carolyn, Diane and Ardis; and brothers Dean and Kevin. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service for Mrs. Theget was Friday, Jan. 4 at Memorial United Methodist Church in Lake Placid with Rev. Dale Schanley officiating.
