Elsie M. Conner, 75, of Lake Placid, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the Lake Placid Health Care Center.

A native of Pennsylvania, she was born Sept. 10, 1937, to Emma and .Conner grew up in Buffalo, N.Y., where she attended high school and the University of Buffalo Business College. She founded and operated a job placement agency in Buffalo after college. She left Buffalo in 1971 to join her mother in Orlando. She later moved to Ft. Lauderdale for a short time before coming to Lake Placid in 1975.

In 1978, with her real estate brokers license, she opened Elsie Conner & Company Realtors which she continued to operate up to her death. “I always loved the sales industry and was forever associated with it,” she often said. Ms. Conner was a member of the St. James Catholic Church and Ladies of the Elks in Lake Placid.

Ms Conner is survived by a sister, Gail Steck (Jerome) of Buffalo, N.Y.; and niece and nephew, Susan and Charles Steck, also of Buffalo.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Michael Cannon celebrating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were under the devotion of Michael A. Brochetti Funeral Home, Lake Placid.
