Charles H. Sherrill, 96, of Boca Raton and formerly of Lake Placid, passed late Saturday evening, Jan. 12, 2013, at Hospice by The Sea in Boca Raton.

A native of North Carolina, he was born May 16, 1916, to Ora and James Sherrill of Hendersonville. He worked in the food industry as a salesperson and also had trained pilots for the Army Air Corps. He lived in Lake Placid on Lake June-In-Winter for a short time in the 1960s before moving to Boca Raton.

Mr. Sherrill is survived by his children, Charlotte Smith of Boca Raton, Charles B. Sherrill of Oak Hill, Va, and Dorothy Weathers of Davie; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be from 1 to 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Michael A. Brochetti Funeral Home at 404 Plaza Ave., Lake Placid. Mr. Sherrill will be interred at Oak Hill Cemetery following the viewing.
