Joanne Intravaia, 63, of Lake Placid, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 2, 2013, at Tampa General Hospital.

Born June 26, 1949, in Staten Island, N.Y. to Josephine (Scarlotta) and Sylvio Capabianco, she moved to Lake Placid in 2000 from Long Island. Mrs. Intravaia was a retired hairdresser and was of the Catholic faith, attending St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid. She enjoyed a good laugh, cooking, baking, movies, going to the theater, vacationing and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Intravaia is preceded in death by her son, Scott Meade. She is survived by her husband, Guy, whom she married Dec. 6, 1986; daughters, Tracy and Kim Meade; stepsons Joseph and Michael Intravaia; and grandchildren, Ashley, Michael Scott, Alyssa, and Michael Intravaia.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Mrs. Intravaia’s life will be at 1 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church, 3880 Placid View Drive, Lake Placid with Fr. Michael Cannon officiating.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted with Scott Funeral Home, Lake Placid.
