Walter A. Katz, 73, of Lake Placid, died on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2012.

Born Dec, 28, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pa., he moved to Lake Placid from his hometown in 1992. Mr. Katz served in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963. He was a medical photographer and graduated from an architectural school.

Mr. Katz is survived by his brother-in-law, Joe Bonett of Lake Placid; and brothers, Bob Katz of Arizona, Joseph Katz of Idaho, and Jacob Katz and Ted Katz, both of Philadelphia.

A memorial service will be Thursday, Jan. 24 at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 3380 Placid View Dr., Lake Placid.
