William B. Stratton, 82, of Sebring passed away Thursday morning Jan. 31, 2013, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, surrounded by his family.

Born Jan. 23, 1931, in Highlands Park, Mich., to parents Charlotte Elizabeth (Sanders) and William Edward Stratton, Mr. Stratton served as a bank director and was active with the school board in Arkansas. After his retirement as a car salesman in Arkansas 22 years ago, he moved to Highlands County. An avid reader Mr. Stratton enjoyed the Wall Street Journal, fishing, genealogy, and history of both the Civil War and WWII. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

Mr. Stratton is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rita; daughter Charlotte Stratton; son Bruce Stratton; and two grandchildren, W.B. and Elizabeth.

Private services for the family will be held sometime this spring in Arkansas. The family suggests donations in Mr. Stratton’s memory be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 33870.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted with Scott Funeral Home, Lake Placid.
