Deborah Marie “Debbie” Byrd, 63, of Lake Placid passed away Sunday evening Feb. 3, 2013, at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring.

Born Nov. 12, 1949, in Boston, Mass. to Josephine (Lewis) and Alphonsus A. Strudas. Mrs. Byrd moved to Lake Placid from Naples 11 years ago. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling and spending time on the lake and being with her family and friends. She was of the Catholic faith.

Mrs. Byrd is survived by her husband of 10 years, Eugene; a daughter, Susan Devoe; son Gene Byrd; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and brothers Allan and George Strudas.

A graveside service to celebrate Debbie’s life was Thursday, Feb. 7 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid with Ft. Luis officiating.
