Katherine (Hofer) High, 60, of Lake Placid, died unexpectedly Friday,
Feb. 15, 2013, at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center in Sebring.

Born July 11, 1952, to Louise and William Lee Hofer of Ft. Lauderdale, she was a long time resident of Highlands County and a Lake Placid resident for the past 23 years. She attended Highlands County schools. Mrs. High was a cosmetologist for over 30 years. She graduated from South Florida State College in the 1990s with an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Crafty Crafters, and enjoyed cooking, seamstressing, arts and crafts, event planning, and she was an excellent marksman.

Mrs. High is survived by her husband, Alan; sons Brandon Hill of Jupiter, Matthew Hill of Iva, S.C., and John Hill of Sebring; a sister, Mary Tyson of Ft. Pierce; and grandchildren, Savannah and Cole.

Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid with Pastor Joe Brooks celebrating.

Funeral arrangements were under the devotion of Michael A. Brochetti Funeral Home, Lake Placid.
