Five juveniles arrested this week and charged with burglary of an Avon Park home apparently left the residence just as the homeowner arrived home, Highlands County Sheriff’s Office public information officer Nell Hays said in a press release.

The suspects were arrested after the homeowner reported that she saw a suspicious vehicle leaving her driveway as she approached her home, the press release said. Deputies located the vehicle at 211 Ernest E. Simms St., Avon Park. A search warrant was executed and property reported stolen from the residence where the burglary occurred was discovered, the press release said.
