The Frostproof Bulldogs edged the Lake Placid Lady Dragons, 1-0, in the finals of the Class 2A; District 10 tournament held this week at Roger Scarborough Memorial Field. The final game was played Friday night, Jan. 18. Despite the loss, Lake Placid’s season continues as the Lady Dragons play a strong St. Petersburg Catholic team there in a regional final Wednesday, Jan. 23.
The Bulldogs managed their sole score of the evening on a corner kick which was converted into a goal by Amanda Robillard who tallied with 2:18 showing on the clock in the first half. From there, Frostproof moved to a defensive posture, dropping more players back to defend their goal against an onslaught of shots by the Lady Dragons in the second half.
