The Lady Dragon basketball team gathered at mid-court for a brief celebration following a 63-39 win over Tampa Catholic that propelled the locals into the Regional finals Saturday night against Dunbar High School.
The Lake Placid Lady Dragon basketball team delighted a huge crowd at the Bill Ross Memorial Gymnasium with a stirring, 63-39 victory over the Tampa Catholic Crusaders in regional tournament semifinal action Tuesday night, Feb. 12.
While Alexandria Coyne electrified the place with a splendid display of offense, defense, transition play and team leadership in what would be her final home game as a Lake Placid Lady Dragon, it must also be said that the rest of the team played the game of their lives in this one. In fact, the Lady Dragons have had quite a run in the last couple of weeks, knocking off Fort Myers Riverdale and then taking down The Academy of The Holy Names as well as the Tampa Catholic Crusaders at the close of a very successful season of basketball. Tuesday night’s game sent Lake Placid into the regional finals against Fort Myers Dunbar Saturday.
