Lake Placid Lady Dragon volleyball standout, Shelbi Bertram, signed a scholarship Wednesday morning to play Beach Volleyball at Webber International University in the coming year. Shelbi, a member of the Lady Dragon volleyball team which dominated district play over the past several years, was a team captain, recording 65 kills and 96 digs. She was named to an All-Highlands County Volleyball team by a local daily newspaper.
Beach volleyball, recently named an Olympic sport, involves two players on a side, competing on a sand court. The sport has been a fixture at Webber for the past five years.
