Lights and sirens could be seen and heard through the fog Thursday morning, barely, for the density of the fog, as emergency officials came to an accident scene on U.S. Highway 27, shortly before 7 a.m.

According to reports, a semi-trailer driven by Lance Lomelin Smith, of Lubbock, Texas, made what police say was an illegal U-turn in the middle of the highway across from Florida’s Natural Growers.
