WIU names new women’s soccer coach

Ashley Cockrell is the new women’s soccer coach for the Lady Warriors.

BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University Athletic Director, Bill Heath, has announced that Ashley Cockrell is the new women’s soccer coach for the Lady Warriors. Cockrell replaces Coach Jami Hagy, who ran the program for the past six years. Hagy resigned in June, to pursue other interest, had a 53-41-4 record during her career at WIU.

Cockrell comes to Webber from Lake Wales High School where she led the Highlanders to the Class 3A, District 13 title last season. In five years as the Lake Wales Coach, Cockrell led her teams to two district championships. She was named Coach of the Year for the 2013 season.
