The Punta Gorda History Park Sunday Farmers Market just celebrated its second anniversary, and there is every indication it’s a permanent addition to the city’s shopping scene.
The market was conceived as a way to help the Punta Gorda Historical Society raise money to maintain the historical buildings in the park — the Trabue Land Sales Office, Price House and Cigar Cottage — and the park’s grounds. It started off with 10 to 15 vendors and has been in growth mode ever since.
