This Friday, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the North Port Art Center, is the Florida unveiling of the children’s book, “Moshi and Gilly, An Unlikely Friendship,” illustrated by the Center’s own Nancy Colby. Colby, who is an award-winning watercolor artist and instructor at the Center, will be on hand with an exhibition of all the original artwork for the book. Prints of those pages will be available for purchase at $35.

In addition, the author and one of the stars of the book will be on hand to say hello. Written by Linda Brannon, the book is about Linda’s cat, Moshi and the unlikely friendship he makes with a fish named Gilly. “Moshi is a Ragdoll breed, and
typically, Ragdolls are kind of docile,” noted Colby. “He will make a grand entrance at some point in the night, wearing his bowtie.”
