Over 100 artists will display original works in seven different mediums during
Englewood’s 10th annual Fine Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday. OEVA (Olde
Englewood Village Association) members will once again sponsor this popular juried show that is expected to draw serious professional artists from the U.S. and other countries. Festival chairman, Janet Landis, expects a huge crowd. “In addition to the Englewood Fine Arts Festival show, the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall will be on display at Pioneer Park,” she said. Dearborn Street will be blocked off to vehicle traffic enabling locals and visitors to enjoy the show at a leisurely pace. The street features a variety of restaurants and unique shops including the Art Alliance of Lemon Bay where local artists offer their work for sale.
Exhibitors compete for cash prizes and award ribbons in seven categories: painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, glass, mixed media and pottery/ceramics. To be eligible for awards artists are required to exhibit during the entire festival. Isadora DeLa Vega and Diane Davidson will judge the event, and previous winners will be on hand to greet the public during the festival.
