Thomas Alva Edison was as much a botanist as an inventor. He grew bamboo to use for filaments in light bulbs but he also grew tropical fruits, rubber trees and so much more.

His gardens are being celebrated this month as the Edison & Ford Winter Estates with garden talks, the annual Edison Garden Market, the Edison & Ford Holiday Nights Holiday Pre-Party and, for veterans, free admission on Veterans Day, Sunday. (Veterans must present a VA identification card or DD214 papers for free admission.)
