Fishermen’s Village in Punta Gorda is known for its creative events, none more popular than the annual celebration that runs from 5 p.m. to midnight New Year’s Eve.

The waterfront mall’s marketing manager, Kathy Burnam, said, “We’re expecting strong attendance again this year. It builds during the evening, and we’ll probably end up with a total of several thousand.”
