Legend has it that in the late 18th century, when sea travel and adventure were synonymous, “Jack Dusty” was a catch-all phrase for the man not only in charge of dolling out rum aboard ships but also of acting as clerk of the local naval store.

That’s the concept behind Jack Dusty, the new restaurant that recently opened at The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota. It’s a restaurant, lounge and marketplace all in one, and provides a casually elegant atmosphere that is sure to attract not only hotel guests, but locals as well.
