Third arrest made in home burglary

PORT CHARLOTTE — Charlotte County Sheriff’s detectives identified and arrested the third person involved in a Nov. 14 home burglary on Meehan Avenue in Port Charlotte. Arrested Friday and charged with burglary to an occupied dwelling and petit theft was Jason Jay Cotton, 21, of the 2500 block of Luther Road, Port Charlotte. Cotton drove his blue pickup truck to the area while Brian Jerome Hartsmanstorfer, 19, of the 2400 block of Auburn Boulevard and Anthony John Hoban, 20, of the 18500 block of Kuldin Avenue, both of Port Charlotte, were involved in the burglary and theft of an air compressor. Cotton was transported to the Charlotte County Jail, and bond was set at $5,500. Hartmanstorfer and Hoban both remain in jail and have not posted bond.
