Grant assists invasive tree removal at Riverwalk

Green Touch of Sarasota employees fill a mulcher Friday with pepper trees removed from Village at Riverwalk. The manufactured home park near North Port was able to get a grant from the county to help remove the invasive species.

SARASOTA COUNTY — Invasive Brazilian pepper trees that have been growing on residents’ properties and in the canal along Village at Riverwalk are being removed.

For the next three weeks, the sounds of a mulching machine and chainsaws may be noisy to some at the manufactured home park near North Port, but music to the ears of others.
