Drug raid nets three arrests
PORT CHARLOTTE — Charlotte County Sheriff’s Narcotics, Street Crimes, and K-9 Units raided a Port Charlotte drug house Thursday around 6:15 a.m. in the 21200 block of Coulton Avenue in the Parkside area. Arrested were Rodney Dewayne Rogers, 42; Alisha Denise Herrmann, 22; and Joseph Alan Cmehil, 50, all of the address where the raid took place. Following a lengthy narcotics investigation, detectives obtained and served a search warrant on the home. The following items were seized: $3,126 in cash; a recently stolen .25 caliber Baretta handgun with seven rounds in the magazine; 190 grams of marijuana; cocaine; two digital scales with cocaine residue; one grinder with marijuana residue; three new AT&T cell phones still in the box valued at $2,300; 1,000 small plastic baggies; one homemade smoking pipe; one rock of crack cocaine found inside a baby’s sock.
All three were transported to the Charlotte County Jail. Rogers was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, and possession of narcotics equipment. Herrmann was charged with sale and delivery of marijuana, possession of cocaine, and possession of narcotics equipment. Cmehil is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, and possession of narcotics equipment. The investigation continues. Rogers and Herrman remain in jail on no bond due to prior felony convictions in narcotics. Cmehil posted a $4,500 bond and was released.
