NORTH PORT — When Marty Murphy visits his nieces and nephews in Sarasota, he says he’s sick of getting laughed at because of the stories his family hears about North Port politics.
“They think it’s funny we have a city commissioner who takes a trip to Key West and Sanibel Island, and refuses to tell taxpayers what she did there,” he said Friday. “We have commissioners who couldn’t make real decisions about Warm Mineral Springs or our road bond, or some other much smaller issues. Commissioners aren’t getting anything done, and it’s making North Port the laughing stock of the region.”
