SARASOTA COUNTY — Nearly four hours into their deliberations, jurors in the Charles Hill murder trial had yet to return a verdict Friday night at the Sarasota County Justice Center.

The 12-member jury and two alternates took their leave around 3:30 p.m., following hours of closing statements and the state’s cross examination of Charles Hill, who testified Thursday and Friday on his own behalf.
