Springs bidder suggests changes for future

NORTH PORT — While Dr. Grigory Pogrebinsky tries to convince commissioners to keep his contract to operate Warm Mineral Springs Day Spa for a year, the only other bidder, Mike Meagher, says the city of North Port and Sarasota County should change the process for soliciting a new management company.

Only two firms submitted bids after the city and county, who jointly own the 81-acre day spa, sought a 12-month, short-term operator for North Port’s only tourist attraction, which has been closed since June 30.
