City recoups $450K from Big League Dreams

NORTH PORT — North Port City Manager Jonathan Lewis has confirmed that the $450,000 paid to California-based Big League Dreams as part of a licensing agreement has been returned to city coffers.

The money was part of a two-year deal struck in 2011 between the city and Big League Dreams, a developer of scaled-down, major league baseball parks, to keep the company from building a facility anywhere else along the Gulf Coast, from Hillsborough County south to Collier County.
