Jodette E. Herard (nee Stackpole), 73, of North Port, Fla., passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012.

She was born May 25, 1939, in Marlborough, Mass.

Jodette graduated from North Brookfield High School in Massachusetts, Westbrook Junior College in Portland, Maine, and The John Robert Powers School of Boston. She enjoyed a long career in retail management in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania and St. Petersburg, Fla. In recent years, Jodette greatly enjoyed her work in the cafeteria of Atwater and Woodland elementary schools. She enjoyed gardening, reading, interior decorating and traveling to Texas and Connecticut to visit her beloved family.

Jodette is survived by her daughter, Danielle Skinner, of Burkburnett, Texas; son, Paul Herard of East Haven, Conn.; son-in-law, Terence Skinner; daughter-in-law, Kim Herard; and brother, Thomas Stackpole and sister-in-law, Valorie Stackpole; grandchildren, Alex Skinner, Drew Skinner, Evan Skinner, Emily Skinner, Olivia Skinner, Duncan Herard, Marley Herard, and Sydney Herard; nieces, Tracy Marchese, and Jenifer Stackpole; and several grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Herard; and her parents, Joseph and Brittomarte Stackpole.

Jodette’s family will celebrate Jody’s life with a private memorial service.
