Willard F. Chamberlin
Willard F. Chamberlin, 85, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012.
He was born in Underhill, Vt., to Hazel and Fordyce Chamberlin.
Willard served in World War II, and was a sergeant in the U.S. Marines. He worked as a machinist for 38 years — most of those years were in Springfield, Vt., at J & L. They moved to York, S.C., in 1980, and then to Florida in 1986. Willard loved baseball, especially the Red Sox. He coached Little League baseball for many years.
Willard is survived by their five sons, Willard Jr. of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Ralph of Kailua Kona, Hawaii, Mark (Deborah) of Venice, Fla., Kirk (Jacqueline) of Rock Hill, S.C., and Darryl (Deborah) of North Port, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Phillip, Julie, Christopher, Catherine and Darryl Jr. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Rebecca.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at North Port Community United Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church or to Champlain College in Burlington, Vt.
