LeRoy G. “Lee” Bauer, 87, of North Port, Fla., passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012.

He was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Meeker, Ohio, and moved to Florida in 1975 from Galion, Ohio.

Lee was the owner of Bauer Barbershop in Galion. He was a lifetime member of the Elks, the American Legion and the VFW. Lee served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Submarine Division, serving on the USS Narwahl, the USS Sablefish and the USS Pelias.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Lou; daughter, Mindy (Mike) Hamilton of Cape Coral, Fla.; sons, Mark (Grace) of Fort Myers, Fla. and Malcolm (Terri) of Englewood, Fla.; sister, Margaret McCoy of Marion, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Bauer’s memory to Tidewell Hospice Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.

Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte, Fla.
