Doris H. Holtz, 99, of North Port, Fla., formerly of Richmond, Va., died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012.

Doris was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richmond, for 65 years and was also a homemaker. She was a contest fan and winner for decades, both in local and national contests. Doris was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, and she loved playing both the piano and the organ. Doris loved to bowl and played on a bowling league for many years.

Survivors include her son, John, of Florida; grandsons, Nathan of California and Lee of Florida; granddaughter, Lynn of Florida; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Ozzie; and by her son, Robert.
