Charles N. Carr Jr., 84, of North Port, Fla., passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012.

He was born Dec. 26, 1927, in Narragansett, R.I.

Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was also a member of San Pedro Catholic Church.

He is survived by his son, Michael Carr of North Port; grandson, Brandon Carr of Sarasota, Fla.; granddaughters, Stephanie Carr and Melissa Carr, both of Sarasota, and Danielle Carr of North Port; great-grandson, Aiden; great-granddaughter, Makayla; and brothers, Robert Carr of North Port, and Raymond Carr of Narragansett.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at San Pedro Catholic Church in North Port, with burial to follow at Venice Memorial Gardens in Venice, Fla. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
