Barbara Guittarr

Barbara (nee Atkinson) Guittarr, 78, of North Port, Fla., formerly of Andover, Mass., passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, after a long illness.

She was the wife of Ronald Guittarr, married for 37 years, and raised her family in Andover before retiring to Florida. Barbara will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. She was a 16-year member of the Moose Lodge 764 in North Port where she enjoyed bingo and socializing. Barbara also enjoyed playing golf, travel with friends to various casinos, and sharing the many successes of her children and grandchildren. She will sorely missed by all that loved her.

Barbara is survived by her children, Debra Birt and husband, Charles of Manchester, N.H., Mark Guittarr and wife, Linda (St. Hilaire) of Derry, N.H., Dawn Marshall and Richard Todd of Bedford, N.H., and Douglas Guittarr and Patti Quinn of Worcester, Mass.; and grandchildren, Alyssa, Alexander, Shelley, Cheyenne, Dakota, Kellie and Lindsay.

***SQUATTER*** The family would like to thank the staffs of Quality Health Care and of Tidewell Hospice for their unconditional love and care they extended to Barbara while under their care. They would also like recognize the members of the Moose Lodge 764 for their love and support. ***END SQUATTER***

There will be a graveside ceremony at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at the Venice Memorial Gardens, 1950 Center Road, Venice, FL 34292. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Barbara’s memory to Tidewell Hospice, 1144 Veronica St., Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
