Marjorie Eugeana Ainsworth was born on August 24, 1944 to the union of Louise and Fredrick Smith in Porous Manchester, Jamaica W.I.

Marjorie received her formal education in her native homeland Jamaica. She furthered her education by attending Monroe College in New Rochelle, New York earning her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in the year 2000.

Marjorie accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age and was baptized on June 29, 1972. Marjorie united with The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses where she served as an active member of the congregation.

Marjorie Smith was united in holy matrimony with Leroy Ainsworth on May 1, 1976 in Kingston, Jamaica W.I. Their union was blessed with three children Melissa (Leecy), Kurt (Jeffery) And Kefeana, (Kay)

The Ministry Of Housing Industry in Kingston Jamaica W.I. employed Marjorie. She was given the title of Supervisor of Registry and worked with the company for over twenty years until her retirement in 1987. Upon immigrating to America in 1987 she pursued a career in nursing and worked at Mount Vernon Hospital, in Mount Vernon, New York for fourteen years where she also resided until retiring to Florida in 2003 and, even in retirement Marjorie could not resist her call of duty to nurse she worked at the Village On The Isles in Venice, Florida until she was forced to stop due to failing health.

In her leisure, she enjoyed having family get together, cooking, vacationing in Jamaica, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved to read the Watchtower Magazines. Marjorie cared for everyone she knew, and we loved the warmth and sincerity in her voice. You felt love whenever you were in Marjorie’s presence weather it be eating her comforting rice and peas and brown stew chicken or just being in her company, we all loved the manner in which she nurtured us. All who have been touched by her will always remember Marjorie’s acts of kindness.

Marjorie Eugeana Ainsworth departed this life on February 9, 2013. Marjorie was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) — also referred to as motor neuron disease or as Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS is a debilitating disease that selectively affects motor neurons, the cells that control voluntary muscle activity including speaking, walking, swallowing, and general movement of the body. Marjorie faced this challenge until the end with humility and grace and held on strong to her faith, believe and love for Jehovah. She was often the one encouraging family and friends to stay strong telling us to pray and have faith in Jehovah. Marjorie was preceded in death by her father, Fredrick Smith; mother, Louise Smith; and brother, George Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved husband, Leroy Ainsworth of North Port FL; Her children Michael (Junior), Melissa (Leecy), Kurt (Jeffery), Kefeana (Kay); ten grandchildren, Keneith, Richard-Adam, Jamical-Gregory, Ameer, Aaron, Kristina, Keje`Ana, Jayla, Jaliyah, and Josiah-Moses; three sisters, Carmen Smith of Palm Beach, FL; Joyce Brown of Mandeville, Jamaica W.I. and Nadine Smith of Manchester, Jamaica W.I.; two brothers, Arthur and Omar Smith both of Manchester, Jamaica; a host of nieces, nephews, stepsons, stepdaughters, step-grandchildren, other relatives and dear friends.
