Economic Development scores baseball tickets

It may not guarantee them a home run, but Charlotte County officials are hoping the county’s newly adopted policy on the allocation of spring training tickets will help them score brownie points with investors and economic development professionals looking to do business with the county.

At a commission workshop Tuesday, commissioners voted unanimously to adopt the Charlotte Sports Park suite ticket allocation policy and procedure, which essentially spells out how the county can divvy up its cache of 14 tickets — valued at between $50 and $75 — to the Tampa Bay Rays spring training games — and to whom. The Rays start playing spring games Feb. 23.
