Kari Taylor Meeks emails us: “I know that a new law was passed where retail stores could pass along a credit card surcharge to customers but that it was prohibited in Florida to do so. We went to a local ice cream shop and were charged a 50 cent fee. This is illegal to do so, correct?”

Yes, Kari, according to information gathered by the Answer Man, you are absolutely correct. That ice cream vendor scooped you out of an extra 50 cents illegally.
