The Charlotte County Commission recently passed a resolution naming the Harold Avenue Recreation Center gymnasium in Port Charlotte the Vivian Hall Gymnasium, in recognition of her volunteer work as a youth basketball coach since 1993.

The resolution cites Hall, or “Coach Cookie,” for playing a “large role in the development of a great number of children in Charlotte County, many of whom continue to be in contact with her today as adults.” She recently was honored for coaching her 1,000th game at the Harold Avenue gym.
