Virginia Vi “Ginger” Hickerson, 76, of Tampa, Fla., passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.

She was born and raised in Tampa.

Virginia graduated from Plant High School and began working for GTE immediately after school, and retired in 1990.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Allen; children, Lindy (Angelo) Suszynski and Kristy (David) Holmes; grandchildren, Virginia, Robert and Madison; sister, Joy Brown; and nephew, Glen Brown. Virginia was preceded in death by her brother, Ted Akin.
