Joseph Wayne “Spoons” Parto, 73, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012.

He was born Jan. 30, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pa., and lived in Levittown, Pa.

Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After 36 years of service, he retired from US Steel. He also served as Councilman for the Township of Tullytown, Pa. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peg; daughters, Diane Parto and Lisa (Kevin) Reilly; grandchildren, Joseph Muldowney, Christina Rovinski, Brianna and Jenna Reilly; and great-grandchildren, Noah and Chloe Bonham. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gina Parto Bradford.

Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte.
